SORRY WE HAD TO CANCEL THE COURSE FOR THIS FALL BUT WE HOPE TO OFFER IT AGAIN IN THE SPRING.

Feasting on God’s Word: Creation and Covenants: A Study of The Pentateuch
In-Person Course at St. Thomas More, Sarasota, Monday Evenings, starting September 13

Feasting on God’s Word is a series of online and in-person classes for Catholics hungry for a deeper knowledge of Scripture. Courses cover the entire Bible in three years. These are non-credit courses for personal spiritual enrichment and growth. There are no grades, and the only homework is reading the Bible.

This course guides students through the first five books of the Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. Students will read significant portions of each book (divided into manageable weekly assignments). Each class will begin with a time of Lectio Divina prayer meditating on a key passage. A short lecture will provide background and insights. Each class will conclude with discussion for students to ask questions, share insights, and to learn from one another.

The course meets on Monday evenings from 6:30pm – 8 pm in the Chelsea Center at St. Thomas More Parish in Sarasota (2506 Gulf Gate Drive Sarasota, FL 34231). The course meets every Monday evening from September 13- November 29 (except September 27 and October 11).

This course is taught by Mr. Joshua Mazrin, Director of the Office of Evangelization for the Diocese of Venice. Mr. Mazrin has the Master of Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville with additional doctoral studies at Ave Maria University. He integrates Scripture, Theology, and Spirituality in his teaching.
